106.1 The River Jocks

Bruce
6:00 am - 10:00 am

I was born in a small town about 75 miles Northwest of Omaha, Nebraska in the Summer of ’69. As young as age 8, I secretly borrowed my oldest brother’s tape recorder and started recording stories I made up in my head. I wasn’t a fan of my own voice as a child, but I worked to improve the way I sounded often. Most of my paper route paycheck went to buy new cassette tapes or records that I loved. After winning 2nd place in my 9th grade Speech team’s ‘Interpretation of Humorous Prose,’ I was hooked on trying to entertain people. I got an Associate of Arts degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting in 1989. I’ve worked for radio stations in my hometown, South Dakota (too cold for me), Omaha, NE, and then my ‘big red’ color morphed into ‘Vol Orange’ in moving to Knoxville over 5 years ago, and I LOVE it here. I’ve loved music all my life, have over 1,000 CD’s in my home collection, and knowing I get to play the BEST music from the 80s, 90s and NOW every morning makes it easy to get up at 4am and get ready every morning to play it all and maybe give you a giggle or two.

CJ (Morning Show Daily Dirt Diva)
6:00 am - 10:00 am

Believe it or not, I grew up in New Jersey with three older brothers that could easily be cast on Jersey Shore. I lost my accent while attending The Ohio State University. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with aspirations for an anchor spot on one of the local networks, but fell in love with radio during my first real paid gig as a traffic reporter. This was back when they actually put us in helicopters. I would fly twice a day, every day and never leave the city. With names like Elaine Change, Ivana Merge and Helen Wheels, it was hard to remember who I was and which station I was reporting on. At least by becoming a Morning Show Co-host along with the late J.R. Nelson on WHOK in Columbus, I could keep it all straight. If I wasn’t in radio, I guess I would probably be a lounge singer. I get to live out my fantasy every third Thursday as a vocalist with The Corduroy Jazz Trio at The Orangery. You’ll see me around town doing National Anthems for some of the sporting events. I sang for the Boston Red Sox once. Whatta RUSH! I also do some TV commercials to support my incurable shoe addiction. I was Mustang Sally on WHOK and WLLD in Columbus, OH, before working as Sales Manager at WAVV 101.1 in Naples, Florida for the last 12 years. I enjoy golf, scuba diving, working out and spending time with my husband and 7-year-old daughter. Check out my blog at www.cindialpert.com

Teresa Brown
10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Teresa Brown hoped to be a rock star, but that did not work out. So she stars on the radio instead. From Las Vegas to Virginia Beach to Dallas, Teresa says "If you have a fun attitude, a story to tell and a great song - life is sweet!" In her spare time she makes up excuses to stay away from the gym, loves reading, British Television and cooking. And her guilty pleasure is all music from the 80's.

Jonathan Doll
3:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Jonathan Doll has done mornings at great radio stations like K-EARTH, Los Angeles, KKRW Houston and WZPL Indianapolis. Billboard magazine twice named him Air Personality of the Year. Jonathan’s also a comedy writer and stand-up comic. He's written hundreds of jokes for Jay Leno, and you may have seen him on TV shows like LA Law, Star Search and a bunch of national ads.

Chad Blake
8:00 pm - 12:00 am

Chad Blake is originally from Ottumwa, Iowa. But his career quickly sent him up the ladder, with stops at KSTZ Des Moines, KMXV Kansas City, WJLQ Pensacola and most recently KWOF Denver. Chad has a HUGE passion for all types of music. When he's not on the air, he enjoys searching for rare music items.

Chris Hatton
12:00 am - 12:00 am

Chris Hatton began his radio career at the legendary WDVE, Pittsburgh and their Modern Rock sister station WXDX. While there, Chris also produced various shows for Fox Sports. After moving west and spending 4 years with a national Hot AC format, Chris now brings his passion for the music he loves to the River.
