Cindi (CJ) - Remotes/Events
10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Cindi Alpert (CJ) grew up in New Jersey and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. Her introduction to the radio business was while in college working as a Traffic Reporter. She would fly in a helecopter or small plane every day and use names like Ivana Merge, Helen Wheels and Lane Weaver. Cindi hosted mornings on WHOK in Columbus Ohio with the late great J.R. Nelson for 2 years. Then moved to Naples Florida and worked as the General Sales Manager for her family's radio station WAVV-FM. Cindi and her husband Jeff had the opportunity to build a new radio station in Knoxville in 2008 and have been going strong every since. Although she is technically the General Manager of 106.1 The River, she likes to get out and do live remotes, emcee events and make special appearances as much as possible. She has become well known as one of the most accessible owners in the business, especially when it comes to supporting local music and auditioning artists for air play. To support her incurable shoe habit, Cindi does modeling and TV commercials on the side. For fun, she sings Jazz and Blues and performs with The Corduroy Jazz Trio all over town. Cindi also enjoys singing National Anthems for sports teams like The Knoxville Ice Bears. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, golf, cooking, and flying in the airplane with her husband Jeff. Cindi and Jeff have a 9-year-old daughter and live in West Knoxville. Cindi loves little dogs, Manolo Blahniks, Zumba class, Pinot Noir and The Muppets.

J Gerard
5:30 am - 9:00 am

As a transplant from the frozen tundra of Michigan, Knoxville never gets too hot for J. He's been interested in radio ever since he made his own show on a handheld tape recorder (yes, he is actually old enough to remember those!). J keeps you up-to-date with weather and local happenings during the Morning show. When he's not on air, he's usually attempting a Jedi Mind Trick on a misbehaving station computer! In his free time, J cycles 3-4000 miles per year all over East Tennessee (please give him at least 3 feet when passing!), races triathlons, flies airplanes, and generally attempts to cram 42 hours of fun into a 24 hour day.
